Medium-duty trucks include all variations of pickup trucks with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) between 10,001 lbs. and 26,000 lbs. Although some of these trucks may look like regular pickup trucks, they come in various customized configurations to meet the specific requirements of the job at hand. But they all are much heavier, longer, and taller than passenger vehicles. The vehicles’ differences in height, length, size, design, configuration, and dynamics will also affect how you drive and what you will do to prevent crashes and collisions. This means they require special skills and training when driving.
