COVID-19 Safety Awareness & Management Best Practice - Distance Learning     
Course Information
During this instructor-led distance learning course, you'll receive guidance to assist you in safely navigating the COVID-19 pandemic. The instructor will highlight OSHA compliance issues that pertain to COVID-19 and help you answer frequently asked questions regarding OSHA recordkeeping and PPE requirements. Additional discussion will include workplace and personal hygiene best practices, common PPE misconceptions, and myths about gloves and masks. We’ll end the course with a live Q&A where you’ll be able to receive additional advice and insights from NDSC consultants.

This comprehensive course will kick off with a “Coronavirus 101” presentation covering characteristics of viruses, with specific focus on COVID-19 properties. Then we’ll cover coronavirus pandemic best practices relating to personal hygiene; disinfecting products and processes; types of masks; donning and doffing of PPE; and proper handwashing and use of hand sanitizers.

Pandemic planning best practices will also be discussed, including:
• Crucial elements of a pandemic plan;
• hazard assessments and mitigation considerations;
• response levels and stages;
• communication;
• and employee training.

The last portion of the class will be a presentation on OSHA regulations and how they relate to COVID-19, including recordkeeping, reportability, hazard assessments, and PPE. PPE discussion will highlight elements of a respiratory protection program; hazard assessments; hierarchy of controls; fit testing; respirator selection; types of N95 respirators; proper training; and more.
