This course is designed to meet the requirements for Riggers and Signalpersons to be qualified under 29 CFR 1926, Subpart CC.
Course will address
• Identifying proper rigging (slings, hooks, shackles, eyebolts, turnbuckles, etc.)
• How to inspect rigging hardware
• ASME hand and voice signals and ASME responsibilities of signalpersons
• Methods to calculate basic load weights, sling angles and sling tension
• Safe rigging practices and procedures
• Safe work practices around cranes
Each participant receives the Crane Institute’s Rigging Book, Riggers Capacity Card, and Hand Signal cards.
To complete the qualified rigger and signal person course all students must complete a written exam with a score of 80% or above.
