Fundamentals of Industrial Hygiene     
Course Information
This course will prepare you with the tools you need to implement a strong industrial hygiene program. It covers 15 topics and examines the four key industry processes: anticipation, recognition, evaluation and control. Plus, it introduces terminology, principles and practices of industrial hygiene.

Taught in an interactive format, this course is supported by case studies, group discussions and hands-on equipment demonstrations to reinforce the material. The course is designed especially for safety, health, environmental and management personnel who have industrial hygiene responsibilities.

Here’s what you’ll learn:
• How to identify and eliminate chemical, physical, ergonomic and biological hazards in the workplace
• How to analyze and correct industrial hygiene problem areas
• When to use a certified industrial hygienist
• About emerging trends in combustible dust, hexavalent chromium, flavorings-related lung disease, bioterrorism, nanotechnology and pandemic influenza
• Basic anatomy and physiology associated with routes of entry and toxicology
• How to use essential safety and health monitoring equipment


By completing the Fundamentals of Industrial Hygiene course, you will earn 2.6 CEUs toward the NSC Advanced Safety Certificate. Register today and gain the confidence you need to anticipate, recognize, evaluate and control industrial hygiene hazards.
